Erasmus+ project rEtribUte: Sharing experiences among generations

2020-1-ES01-KA229-082559

The Erasmus+ project rEtribUte: Sharing experiences among generations is based on the potential of schools to educate students in social engagement and encourage their participation in improving the living conditions of the older population.
The project involves the following schools: IES Azorín in Petrer as coordinator, Thomas Mann Gymnasium in Berlin, and Egri Pásztorvölgyi Altalános Iskola és Gimnázium in Eger, Hungary.
For the older population, sharing their experiences and the richness of their legacy in various dimensions, such as sounds, experiences, places, and words, will empower them. The contact with young people will provide a greater personal and cultural connection to their community and a contextualization of their learning.
For students, the older population will provide a field of application for their knowledge, particularly through initiatives based on the application of their digital and socio-cultural competences. The project aims to minimize the gaps between the two age groups and generate awareness, from a transnational perspective (Spain, Germany and Hungary), about the legacy of grandparents and its importance for society as a whole
The target group for this project is pupils between 15 and 17 years old, and the knowledge objectives are to become familiar with educational methodologies such as service learning, problem-based learning, and design thinking from an interdisciplinary perspective. Students will also improve their linguistic competence through complex tasks and coexistence in a different environment.
The objectives in terms of skills are to improve their digital competence through the use of technologies for purposes applicable to everyday life and the design of tools to be used by other groups, improve their linguistic competence in English, develop skills related to cooperative work in different groups, and mobilize the key competences acquired in the development of complex tasks.
For teachers, the project aims to improve their methodological competence for the development of interdisciplinary projects from a service-learning perspective, improve their knowledge of successful practices in other educational systems, and improve their linguistic competence.
In terms of community, the project aims to strengthen the internationalization of institutions through joint work between schools, link the action of participating schools with the work of social institutions in the field of education and leisure for older people in the four participating countries, empower the older population by recognizing and disseminating their contributions and promoting the elimination of gaps, and improve coexistence and social cohesion in the environment of participating schools.
